Simple Bird House Plans With Measurements

Building a birdhouse can be a rewarding experience, and it doesn't have to be difficult. With a few simple tools and materials, you can create a cozy home for your feathered friends. Follow these easy steps and you'll be able to build your very own birdhouse:

Materials:

1x6 pine board (or similar)
1/2-inch plywood
1-inch wood screws
Wood glue
Sandpaper
Paint or stain (optional)

Tools:

Saw
Drill
Screwdriver
Clamps
Measuring tape
Pencil

Instructions:

1. Cut the wood.

Cut the 1x6 pine board into the following pieces:

2 pieces 6 inches long for the sides
2 pieces 4 inches long for the front and back
2 pieces 3 inches long for the roof

Cut the 1/2-inch plywood into a 4-inch square for the floor.

2. Assemble the box.

Apply wood glue to the edges of the side pieces.
Clamp the side pieces together to form an L-shape.
Repeat this process with the front and back pieces to form the other L-shape.
Join the two L-shapes together to form a box, making sure that the corners are flush.
Secure the joints with 1-inch wood screws.

3. Attach the floor.

Apply wood glue to the underside of the floor.
Center the floor on the inside of the box and secure it with 1-inch wood screws.

4. Add the roof.

Apply wood glue to the edges of the roof pieces.
Join the roof pieces together to form a triangle, making sure that the corners are flush.
Secure the joints with 1-inch wood screws.
Center the roof on top of the box and secure it with 1-inch wood screws.

5. Finish the birdhouse.
